Krestin Bahr has led the Peninsula School District since July 1, 2021, bringing over 37 years of educational experience. Her career began as a classroom teacher, advancing through roles as a principal and Director of Middle Schools, eventually becoming the Mt. Tahoma Regional Director for Tacoma Public Schools. Bahr holds a Master of Education from City University, a Bachelor of Arts from Pacific Lutheran University, and a Superintendent Certification from Washington State University.
Before joining our district, Bahr served as Superintendent of the Eatonville School District for eight years, receiving two nominations for the American Association of School Administrators (AASA) Superintendent of the Year. Since joining Peninsula, she was honored as the Leader of Distinction for 2023 by the Washington Association of School Business Officials and serves on both the Professional Educator Standards Board and as a Governing Board member of AASA.
Bahr has significantly contributed to securing Arts Impact and Mastery Based Learning grants for our schools. Under her leadership, Pioneer Elementary was recognized as a STEM Lighthouse School and a Green Leader School by OSPI and the U.S. Department of Education. Additionally, Swift Water Elementary, Voyager Elementary, and Evergreen Elementary have been awarded Green Leader School status.
Krestin Bahr has been married to her husband, Bryon, for 39 years. They have three grown children and four grandchildren.
