Mission
Welcome to KGHP-FM. We are an educational/community radio station serving the Gig Harbor and Key peninsulas in the southern Puget Sound region of Washington. Our mission is two-fold:

  • We offer students a unique and hands-on broadcasting experience from our studios at Peninsula High School.
  • We provide our greater community with valuable information and entertainment.

Staffing/Format
Staffed mainly by students and volunteers, KGHP-FM offers an eclectic scale of entertainment which includes jazz, blues, reggae, roots and Americana, classic rock, vintage music and local sports.

Emergency Information
KGHP is also a great source for local emergency information. From school closures and snow days to environmental calamities, KGHP has always been a reliable source for up-to-date emergency information.

Community Support
The operation of KGHP is dependent upon the financial contributions and sponsorships from local underwriters. If you would like to support KGHP by becoming an underwriter, please contact our station manager.

    Listen to BD’s Books & Friends on Thursdays from 5 – 7 p.m.

    As a child, BD had a lot of trouble learning to read due to mild dyslexia. Once she unlocked the secret of letters and words the entire world was available to her. She’s been reading and sharing her joy of reading and writing ever since! 

    D.J. Dale
    Listen to D.J. Dale’s Classic Rock Connections on Mondays from 5 – 7 p.m.

    “Classic Rock and Roll Connections” debuted in August 2002 on KGHP. This two hour radio show is hosted by DJ The DeeJAy every Monday, and D.J. picks a theme and plays rock and roll from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s.

    Mike Kelly
    Mike Kelly is playing the smooth sounds of the Jamaican underground. Reggae, Ska, Dub, and a little dance mixed in. Listen every Wednesday from 7:30 – 10:30 p.m. 

    Kelly’s Heroes has been running on KGHP for over 18 years. If you like reggae, then Kelly’s Heroes is the show for you!
