Allergies/Dietary Needs
Peninsula School District strives to accommodate students with medical or special dietary needs. A medical authority must provide a signed statement, including:
- Identification of the medical or dietary condition
- Foods to be omitted
- Foods to be substituted
Food Substitutions:
The Nutrition Services Department may make substitutions for students without disabilities but with special dietary needs, such as food intolerances or allergies, on a case-by-case basis.
Special Dietary Options:
- Gluten-Free: Various gluten-free options are available.
- Tree Nuts/Peanuts: No products containing nuts are offered, with designated "nut-free" tables.
- Lactose: Suitable substitutes provided upon request.

The Peninsula School District supports the No Kid Hungry program to ensure every child has access to nutritious meals. The USDA National Hunger Hotline is available Monday–Friday:

- Text Line: Families can text "Food" or "Comida" to 877-877 to find free summer meals near them.

The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
